Leadership

At The Barre Dance Company, the best thing we can offer our community is a dancer who not only has a strong dance training, but one who can apply those talents with confidence, compassion, and a commitment to serve the community.

Dance can be a gateway to instill leadership skills and teach valuable life lessons like how to set goals, work effectively in teams, solve problems, exude confidence, attain discipline, etc. Our program focuses on these elements throughout the year and we work intentionally with our students to help them apply these principles both In the classroom AND outside the classroom.

Students who have completed the fundamentals program and who have been accepted for additional training are invited to join the leadership team at The Barre Dance Company.

We challenge our leadership teams to uphold the responsibility of protecting the positive culture that we've created.  These individuals are expected to demonstrate the  concepts we teach in their behavior on and off the dance floor and to be an example to newer students and peers.

Those who strive to incorporate these concepts are given opportunities to develop their skills further through class demonstrations, assistant teaching and other leadership development experiences.

Each month we teach a specific leadership concept based on Biblical principles. Students will learn how applying that principle contributes to our success in dance training as well as social, academic, professional, and family life.
